For someone who has spent far too much time up in her head, spinning wheels, turning in on herself, this really works wonders for bringing my focus into the hear and now. Also, it resets the clock.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Breathing in<br \/>\nI am aware of the oxygen flowing into my lungs<\/p>\n<div>Breathing out<br \/>\nI am aware of the carbon dioxide flowing out of my bodyBreathing in<br \/>\nI breathe in deeply<br \/>\nfeeling the oxygen expand my lungs<br \/>\nreaching every corner<br \/>\nreplenishing and refreshing my body<br \/>\nBreathing out<br \/>\nI breathe out s&#8230;l&#8230;o&#8230;w&#8230;l&#8230;y<br \/>\nnot rushing aheadBreathing in<br \/>\nI do not struggle<br \/>\nI just breathe<br \/>\nBreathing out<br \/>\nI am at ease<br \/>\nat peace in the momentBreathing in<br \/>\nI smile for all the joy of being fully present<br \/>\nBreathing out<br \/>\nI release all my fear, anger, pain and sadness<\/p>\n<p>Breathing in<br \/>\nI become fully aware<br \/>\nof my body from the inside out<br \/>\nIt\u2019s weight and heat<br \/>\nThe ebb and flow of blood<br \/>\nMy heart beat<br \/>\nBreathing out<br \/>\nI become fully aware<br \/>\nof what I am hearing, seeing, feeling, smelling and tasting<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8211;loosely based on a mindful breath exercise in Thich Nhat Hanh&#8217;s, &#8220;The Heart of The Buddha&#8217;s Teachings.&#8221; Adapted over time to what works for me.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8211;I try to do this at least once a day, usually in the morning.
